Text Box: What Does The Hire Fee Cover?
The hire fee includes usage, safety equipment, fuel and cleaning. A security deposit of $200 is refunded when the boat is returned in good order. 
Can I Stay Out Longer Than Booked?
Yes. If you wish to stay longer, casual overtime is paid upon request.
What Happens If I Come Back Early?
Our minimum hire is 4 hours however if you come back early on an 8 hour hire we provide vouchers for unused time. Vouchers can be used to add to your next hire and are valid for 6 months. 
Do I Need a Boat Licence?
YES! The boats are designed to travel at 40km per hour being cruise speed, therefore a boat license is required. For further information on obtaining a boat license CLICK HERE 
Is There an Age Limit?
The boat operator must be 18 years of age or older and passengers can be any age provided the person weighs 15kg or more due to life jacket design. 
Are Lifejackets Provided?
Yes. Lifejackets in all sizes are provided for safety 
Do I Need Experience?
No. At Dartmouth Boat Hire we specialise in introducing people to a safe and fun boating experience. Full training is provided and the boats are extremely easy to operate. 
How Far Can I Go?
Hire conditions allow for 3 units of engine hour time, electric motor for trolling will allow up to 10 hours.

Are There Any Hazards?
The Dartmouth Lake is a man made lake. Obstacles such as Tree tops, floating logs do occur depending on Lake levels. Caution is always advised. 
Do People Catch Fish?
Yes indeed, Dartmouth boasts the natural breeding ground of the Macquarie Perch as well as Rainbow and Brown Trout, very large trophy specimens have been caught on a regular basis. We will give you advice on where to go and how to catch the fish. 
Do I Need a Fishing Licence?
The State Government requires fishing licences for people over 18 and under 70 years of age. Fishing licenses can easily be purchased from Dartmouth Hotel and Dammit@Dart both located in the town centre. PRICES:  $6.00 (2 day), $12.00 (28 day), $24.50 (1 year), $66.00 (3 year). 2 Day and 28 Day licenses only available from Hotel. 
What About Supplies?
Dartmouth Alpine Anglers Club Merchandise Shop has a huge range of bait, tackle, rods, fishing licenses, refreshments, jumpers, beanies and a wide range of other fishing paraphernalia . 
Can I Drink Alcohol?
Yes. Alcohol is permitted but in absolute moderation for all boat passengers. The Water Police regularly patrol the area to ensure safe boating for everybody. 
Can I Go Swimming from the boat?
No. Swimming, from the boat is strictly not permitted and may cause injury or damage. 
With Insurance are our personal belongings covered?
No! Due to our insurance policy the boat and attachments are the only items covered .
